When obsession goes too far…
Character Design
After deciding on a preliminary script, I began to design characters that both visually aligned with their personalities and served to starkly contrast each other.
For my idol character, Jeni, I wanted her to be very curvy, blonde, and have almost inhuman eyes. I played around with some different ideas before settling with the version on the right.
For my main character, Stella, I wanted to be very boxy and tomboyish, with shorter darker hair to contrast.
I played around with some cartoonier versions, but ultimately decided to stick with the more “semi” realistic style as I thought it better suited the story.

Original storyboard for my second scene. I completed most of my preplanning through animatics and on paper after this example.
Scene 2
To test the style and ideal end result, I first completed a finalized version of the second scene.
However, I was greatly unsatisfied with the result and redid this scene during the spring semeseter.
